Kelvin is one of the founding principals of ABN as well as a Director of ABN BAS. He is also a Director of a respected Brisbane based accounting firm. Kelvin is a Certified Practising Accountant with industry experience and expertise spanning in excess of 20 years.
Kelvin is passionate about business development and providing innovative learning and training to the bookkeeping industry. He plays an active role in ABN research, events and the provision of technical resources. Kelvin is also the architect behind ABN’s acclaimed Pillars of Public Practice and the Bookkeepers Business Benchmarking Survey. He enjoys seeing bookkeepers develop their businesses into profitable enterprises.
Darren is one of the founding principals of ABN as well as a Director of ABN BAS. As a practising Chartered Accountant of over 20 years, he has extensive experience in the fields of income tax, capital gains tax, and GST. Darren’s tertiary qualifications include a Bachelor of Business and Master of e-Business.
With his unique skill set, Darren takes a leading role in ABN’s various technology platforms. He brings a rare combination of both technical expertise and innovative, strategic thinking to the ABN Team. Delivering the very best in technical and I.T. resources to ABN members is Darren’s passion.
Since 2001, Sonya has contributed to the overall excellence, expertise and integrity of a sustainable bookkeeping industry by encouraging new entrants to the industry, educating new and existing bookkeepers, increasing professionalism, encouraging compliance and managing change. Education is the key. With innovative learning and training techniques and resources we can achieve this together.
Sonya has 18 years’ experience in the financial services industry and 8 in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and has a strong interest in new and emerging trends in finance, education and compliance.
As an experience educator operating in the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) space, Sonya has developed and delivered courses for the bookkeeping and accounting industry which comply with the national training packages (Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, Diploma of Accounting and Diploma of Payroll Services). Her passion for education has also led her to further develop a range of other CPE offerings.
Kerrie Jarius is a passionate advocate of the bookkeeping industry. Kerrie is the director of Brilliant Admin Solutions with over 20 years’ experience in the bookkeeping Industry. She is a registered practicing BAS Agent. Kerrie is involved in representation of BAS Agents to the Australian Taxation Office including the BAS Agents Association Group.
Kerrie received the Canberra Business Woman of the Year award and has also been a state finalist in both the Telstra Business Awards and the Telstra Business Women’s awards. With a team of bookkeepers over 3 locations Kerrie is all about empowering women and bookkeepers to be the best they can be
Kellie is a Director of ABN and ABN BAS. As a Certified Practising Accountant with over 25 years experience, Kellie has been a part of the many changes that have shaped bookkeeping into the professional industry it is today. Kellie is also a director of PT Partners, an accounting firm in Brisbane and an authorised representative with Securitor.
Kellie is passionate about all things ABN, being involved in ABN operations, ABN events and working with software companies and suppliers to bring exclusive offerings to ABN members. Kellie is instrumental in organising the biennial ABN national conference.
Peter is one of the founding principals of ABN as well as a Director of ABN BAS and has been a Chartered Accountant for well over 25 years. In addition, Peter is the founding director of PT Partners, a respected Brisbane-based accounting firm.
Peter is ABN's representative in various industry arenas, including those convened by the Australian Tax Office and Treasury where he is an active advocate for bookkeepers across Australia. Peter is the driving force behind ABN’s comprehensive PI Policy and ABN's strategic partner relationships. He is also the architect behind ABN Payroll, another offering which makes your membership with ABN unique.
Cassandra Scott is the Director of Laurus Bookkeeping, a business services consultancy specialising in cloud based accounting and business systems based out of Brisbane, and operating for more than 15 years.
Cassandra is a Registered BAS Agent, Xero Certified Advisor, Xero Platinum Partner and has been a member of the Australian Bookkeepers Network for over 15 years, and partners and works with other cloud based software providers to provide comprehensive bookkeeping and business solutions to SMEs throughout Australia and overseas.
She is recognised as a specialist on Xero, and has contributed to the ongoing growth and development of the software. Cassandra provides mentoring services to other bookkeepers and contributes to ongoing discussion and development of programs to increase the professionalism and evolution of the bookkeeping industry.
In support of her goal to increase the profile and professionalism of bookkeepers and BAS Agents to both SMEs and other industry professionals, Cassandra administers the Bookkeepers in Practice (Australia) Facebook Group. This group has over 2000 members, and is the largest FB group of Bookkeeping Practice Owners in Australia. The intent of the group is to provide support, mentoring and collaboration for Australian Bookkeepers who have their own practices, and by doing so, continue to raise the bar and professionalism of the industry.
When not working with clients, Cassandra enjoys spending time with friends and family, enjoying good food and wine, travelling.
Jo Crumpton came to bookkeeping after a careers as a social worker and then business compliance. She sold her bookkeeping business after 16 years. She is currently a director of ECJ Online, a cloud-based bookkeeping company she started in 2016 and which now has teams in Brisbane and Sydney. She is a registered practicing BAS Agent.
Jo loves the bookkeeping industry and admires the dedication and care that bookkeepers commonly bring to their work – whether they are sole traders or also employ other bookkeepers. She joined ABN in the early days of her business journey. She credits ABN with providing the support and network which enabled her to build successful businesses and get through the challenging periods which inevitably occur from time to time in business. She believes that the roles of advocacy, education and support are critical and is thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute through ABA.
