ABA & TPB - A Closer Working Relationship

Australian Bookkeepers Association Ltd (ABA) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).

The MOU sets out a framework for greater engagement, co-operation and information sharing between the TPB and your association.

Your Board believes the MOU and the spirit in which it has been entered into will prove to be a very good thing for both our association and the greater bookkeeping industry. The Memorandum should lead to:

  • Greater co-operation
  • More streamlined dealings
  • Better and more open communication
  • A closer working relationship
  • Pro-active information sharing
  • Smoother operation and interpretation of the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA) and its Regulations

ABA Chairman Peter Thorp:“the MOU is so much more than just a document, it is the spirit and intent with which it was entered into that will ultimately maximise the benefit to all bookkeeping/BAS Agent industry stakeholders. We look forward to working more closely with the key BAS Agent regulator; the TPB”.
